Lientje

Today the weather was very nice. Jannik went for a bikeride with a friend and in the meanwhile Jack and I played outside. First it was moterbike time. On the way, we found a little oasis of rocks. They needed to be conquered, so Jack started climbing. First the small rock and later the biggest one. He was one proud little dude. Then we went for a walk with the strawler. We started out by walking towards the lake, but stopped about halfway. Cause: a train. Jack started shouting ‘tog TOG TOOG’ (=train, TRAIN, TRAAIN). Ok new plan: we went back and walked to the towncenter. We bought a few things in the supermarket and then we walked to the trainstation, grabbing a chocolate croissant on the way. On the trainplatform, we watched the trains come by. He looooves trains and was very excited. After a while Jannik called and they came to meet us. Together we walked back to the playground at home, where Jack ran around on his motercykle again, played in the sandbox, went down the slide and used the swing. It was a very nice and active day.

Yesterday we (Jack, grandma and me) went to the zoo. We already had a lot of fun on our way over there. Jack kept on saying ‘ajjj’ and ‘oooh’, every time a truck or bus came by. We passed a lot of them, so he was busy. It sounded soo cute.

When we got there he wanted to look at everything. Trying to get as close as he could. He didn’t mind other people close, he just wanted to get a good view. We started with flamingos, lions and camels. The first was a ‘fuuu’ (translated it is ‘fugl’ which means ‘bird’). The second and the third both were ‘vov vov’ (meaning ‘dog’). There was a lot of ‘ohh’ and ‘ahh’ again. This time no trucks, but animals also do the trick. He loved it there. We stayed till closing time. We saw almost everything there; monkeys, elefants, tigers, butterflies, snakes, turtles, girafs, horses, sea lions, fish, birds and lots lots more. About halfway, we stopped for icecream. Jack got his chocolate icecream in a little cup that looks like an elefant. Now he can use it as a mug. He ran around a lot and didn’t really want to sit in the stroller we brought with us. We were outside again at 18h. On the way home, Jack fell asleep; a very tired little boy. We picked up pizza on our way home, since it was already very late. They gave Jack a lollipop, so he was happy. We drove home to the grandparents, ate, collected Jacks bag, packed the car and drove home. It was way over Jacks bedtime, but he had a great day.

This morning Jack and mom went for a bike ride. Jack looked around, sitting and relaxing, while mom was working up a sweat on her mountainbike. We had 2 stops. The first one was to get something to drink and to look at the woods. We even found a dead mole  and a lot of snails. We only stopped for a few minutes. Jack wanted to get going again and climbed in the trailer as soon as he was done drinking his juice. Second stop was also in the woods. Usually there are horses on the field, but not today. There were a lot of dogs though. Small and big ones. Jack loved it. Every time he saw a dog he said: ‘vov vov’ and got overly excited. Very funny to watch. We climbed a few small hills. Mountains we call them. Jack needed help the first few times, but soon he was climbing on his own and running down. Just as I was filming his activity, he lost his balance and fell backwards, tumbling down. It looked a little funny and luckely he didn’t get hurt. A few seconds afterwards he was back on his feet and running up and down again. When we got back home, I discovered a tick on his ear. We removed it completely without problems (it even tried to make a run for it, after it was removed, but it didn’t get very far – heads off my little guy). Poor Jack was a little confused. Weird that my son already has that experience. As far as I remember, I never had one.

After his nap, we went shopping and when we got home, I had to start making dinner. I took a big box and drew a stove on it. Gave Jack a few pots, potatoes, an union, a few carrots, an empty milkcarton and a few spoons. He was totally into it and started making dinner. Gave me the posibility to make our dinner. He loved it and was very concentrated.

Today we wanted to give dad some rest. So in the morning, we took the strawler and walked to the trainstation in Værløse. Bought bread, drinks and a ticket and took the train to Farum. Not a very long way (maybe 3 minutes), but Jack was totally amazed by the ride. He looked at the surroundings passing by so fast. He looked left and right. He didn’t want to sit for himself. That was way to exciting. So he sat on my lap, turning left and right. When we got there, we waited for the train to take off again. Farum is an endstation, so it takes a little while for the driver to walk to the other side of the train. We walked to the front and watched the traindriver looking out of the little window. He saw Jack was looking so he waved and sounded the horn. Jack was totally silent, mouth open and looking as the train left the station. When the train was gone again, he kept on pointing in the direction the train left in and babbling, looking from me to the train and back. We walked home again through the woods, close by the lake Farumsø. It was a beautifull walk. Jack even helped me push the strawler for a while. We watched the water and the boats on the water. Walked on the little walkbridge to the water and found some fish in the lake. Jack kept on pointing at everything and ‘talked’ a lot. He kept on asking ‘what’s that’, saying ‘there it is’ and ‘ajjj’. He was impressed. A little further we found small rocks we could throw into the water. Made a nice sound, so we threw a lot of them. We also climbed over roots, big rocks and pieces of wood. When we got out of the forrest, we found a little bench to eat our bread and drink some juice. Jack ran around, collecting small rocks again. This time the grass got them. When we got home, it was time for Jacks nap.

After his nap, we went to the beach at Furesø. At first he didn’t really want to go into the water, so I only took of his pants. He used his shovel to collect watery sand and tried not to get his toes too wet (didn’t work – small waves kept on getting them). After about half an hour, he was used to the colder water and ran in. I hurried to take his shirt and diaper off, but they got totally wet anyway. He ran from one side of the beach to the other in the shallow childfriendly water. Slowly he went further and further, splashing his shovel into the water as he went. He even sat down a few times – not for long, since the small waves hit him and then he got up. It was soooo much fun. Too bad mom thought that 20 minutes in the water was enough. The water was 21 degrees celsius. It wasn’t cold, but still a lot colder than the water in the swimmingpool. It was also time to get back home for dinner. So we walked back again (another 30 minutes walk). Did some shopping and were home again at 18.30h. Quickly made some easy dinner, took a short shower and it was bedtime for the little man. He had a great day.

Just a few minutes ago he laughed in his sleep. I can imagine he remembers his nice day

While we were walking around, Jannik relaxed, tried to eat and drink according to his tight plan and even went for a walk to the parkinglot. He actually saw us out on the way to the beach. After his walk he was sooo tired he couldn’t keep himself awake. So when we got back, dad was sleeping. I am very proud of my handsome husband. He already lost a total of 25 kilos. It’s a hard road, but he is doing it, making me proud along the way. Way to go hubby.

Today we went to 2 different playgrounds and for a walk afterwards. Jack is not feeling all too well (he has a cold), but he still loves to play. He is getting big and can now get on and off most of the things on the playground, by himself. Just need to be there, in case

In the beginning of this month, Jack tried something different. He took a milk-shower. Not sure if it helped.

Sometimes Jack is allowed to listen to music, using dads headset. He just loves to sit there and watch the shapes change on the screen. Lovely colours and shapes. When my mom, Lamsi, sister and Marcus were here for a visit (for Janniks birthday), Jack was allowed to play the drums on the wii. He loved to hit … everywhere. It was extremely funny. He laughed a lot. He also made us some food, while playing his new keyboard. Very funny. When I pretend to eat from his play-plate, he also takes a bite. He even says ‘Ahhh’. The last picture in this series is takes right after bath-time. Jack has some good marks on his nose. He got those in kindergarden. They went playing on the playground and since Jack wasn’t used to walking around in his boots, he fell down a lot. He had his hands inside his sleeves, so instead of using his hands to brake the fall, he used his nose. They said that he didn’t even cry that much. But his nose looked terrible for a while.

Jannik had a great 40th birthdayparty. He got a lot of presents and attention. We had ordered an entire pig for the bbq and a butcher to prepare it. The also made a lot of salat and potatoos. It was a great meal. There were kids there too, so Jack had a lot of fun as well. I drove him, my sister and Marcus home around 22 o’clock. A very tired little man. I went back to join the party again, while my sister and Marcus were Jacks babysitters. He slept like a …. baby

Last week the weather become better. The sun came out and the temperature went up. So it was time to play outside.

Jack had his first birthday the 29th of january. Off course we took a lot of pictures.

We invited 3 kids (Kasper, Lærke and Emil) and their parents in the morning. One wasn’t able to come, due to fever. Janniks parents were there as well. In the afternoon Janniks grandma (Jacks greatgrandma) and our nabours came for a visit. My mom and Lammert were there on Skype.

* My dad, Joke and my grandma sent a present by mail from Holland. It arrived a few days after Jacks birthday.

* Janniks parents had a gift from Janniks other grandma, since she unfortunately wasn’t able to be there.

Thanks everybody for the great gifts. Jack is a lucky boy.

Shortly after his birthday, Jack started walking alone. Still a little shacky, but he walks. Well done little Jackus.

I finally got around to uploading pictures of Jacks first Christmas; from ‘getting ready’ to ‘going home’.

We had a great Christmas with Janniks parents, grandparents and sister with kids. Thanks guys for a great Christmaseve.

Jack startet with ’saying hi’ to everybody. Malte and Noah were extremely interesting. He kept on crawling after Noah and Noah enjoyed playing with Jack; picking him up, showing him things and talking to him. So sweet.

Then it was time for dinner. Jack got some white and brown (sugar) potatos with brown sauce. He loved it. He even got to taste ‘flæskesteg’. He liked that a lot too. The red cabage was not such a big succes, but who can blame him with all the other jummy stuff around. For desert he got ‘risalamande’. That was the biggest succes. He couldn’t get enough.

After dinner we danced around the beautifull Christmastree – Jack on my arm. He was looking at the tree and all of us going around. The last dance he got to sit on my shoulders. It’s a fast one where you almost run and jump around. He looooved that. Couldn’t stop laughing and looking at everybody action funny.

Finally it was time for the gifts. There were lots of gifts under and in the tree. Malte and Noah passed them around. Jack hardly knew where to look, so much happening at the same time. He enjoyed the wrappings a lot. By the time he unpacked half of his gifts, he was extremely tired. He didn’t want to sleep though. Too much fun. So when we went home around 22 o’clock, he was exhausted. Fell asleep in the car.

Respecting the wish of wanting to be anonomous, I removed the person out of the pictures. That’s why there are black shapes on some of the pictures.

On the second day of Christmas Jack made a very nice painting. Actually, he made a lot of paintings. He is very fast. Afterwards he looked like…. well…. like he painted, using everything. Here you go:

Yesterday we took Jacks new babysleigh for a ‘ride’.  It is a very safe baby thing. He sits on/in a little chair and has a rim around his waist. There is enough snow. Maybe there was too much snow. It was definately hard for me to pull him around. My pants got wet to the knees. Oh well, Jack enjoyed it a lot. Here are some pictures:

When we got back home, Jack played with one of his new cars. He also managed to get his hands on the little case for my camera. He kept on opening and closing it. It has velcro, so it makes a very funny sound. He enjoyed it so much, that he kept on dragging it around the rest of the day

Such a sweet little guy. He wants to try everything and see everything. He takes after his mom

This week Jack made some things in his kindergarden. They painted and put stickers on a christmastree. Very pretty

On wednesday he was ‘the elf of the day’. They took a picture of him and put it in a little frame. We got the picture as a christmasgift
